NIVEA For Men Gets A Head With Magic Star

NIVEA For Mens latest range of skincare products is using a customised version of Bramlage-Wikos best-selling Magic Star dispenser – featuring a new headpiece design exclusive to Beiersdorf – for assured performance and high-quality branding.

The new NIVEA For Men range offers a complete facial skincare solution especially developed for the demanding needs of men. It consists of five products: DNAge Anti-Age Moisturiser; Gradual Tan Summer Look Moisturiser; Cool Kick Gel; Energy Gel Q10 and Q10 Anti-Crinkle.

Brand owner Beiersdorf wanted a distinctive packaging format that would ensure optimum recognition across the new range, as well as delivering measured dosing and convenient dispense. Working with Bramlage-Wiko engineers, Beiersdorfs packaging development team achieved a new look based on the proven performance of the Magic Star dispenser, whose ingenious and easy-to-use airless system provides the required amount of product in one measure.

The specially designed headpiece construction accentuates the overall pack appearance with a masculine redesign. The dispensing head is raised to give it prominence, an effect enhanced by the use of a clear overcap. An indented band separates the headpiece from the container body to further emphasise its bold look.

Injection moulded in PP random copolymer, the Magic Star is supplied in blue and grey variants, with colour-matched labels applied by Beiersdorf to the outer jar completing the eye-catching packaging solution.

NIVEA For Men is a prestigious and popular brand, so our packaging must offer the highest standard in terms of functionality and aesthetics, comments Kurt Mählmann of Beiersdorf. We are delighted with Bramlage-Wikos willingness to bring a distinctive new look to its Magic Star dispenser to give the new NIVEA For Men range an amazing appearance.

The new NIVEA for Men dispensing system has already been launched in all European countries, with worldwide roll-out – including the USA and Asia – to follow.

Printing & Lightweighting For Boxer Chemicals

Printing & Lightweighting For Boxer Chemicals

A lightweight printed pail from – specially developed for the packaging and dispensing of wet wipes – is providing Boxer Chemicals with combined style and convenience for one of its products. Based in Manchester, Boxer supplies a range of chemical solutions to a wide UK customer base including many local councils. Amongst the products targeted at this sector are Heavy Duty Hand Cleaning Wipes, whose formula specially developed to protect against the risk of Weils Disease. This bacterial infection is commonly transmitted by rats, and Boxers solution is intended to be used by council workers involved in any type of work where they may come into contact with rats. Boxer has been using pails from, which incorporate a fitment in the lid for easy dispensing of wipes, for several years. The company recently decided to revamp its brand image by switching from labelled pails to screen printing. The excellent graphic reproduction ensures an eye-catching visual effect, which enhances our branding so that we can widen the profile and reach of the product to include sales in over-the-counter trade outlets, explains Alan Daley of Boxer Chemicals. At the same time, Boxer has been able to take advantage of new lightweight 3 litre plastic pail, developed to meet growing demand from the wet wipe market. The redesign recognises that wipes do not require the same level of durability required of RPCs standard pail range, which is commonly used for heavier products such as paint. A substantial amount of the container material (PP) has been removed, offering lighter handling and significantly improved logistical efficiencies during transit. At the same time, the height of the container has been increased to suit the industrys filling and lidding processes, while superior nesting enables the stacking of more units per pallet. The pail lid, manufactured by sister site Market Rasen, is supplied with a red fitment, colour matched to the shade of red used by Boxer for its branding. A tamper-evident tab on the lid provides further product security. Group wipes pail combines practicality in logistics and end user handling with an impressive aesthetic appeal, concludes Alan Daley. With our business growing all the time, these are valuable qualities to have in a packaging solution.

Lidl Chooses RPC To Ensure Minavit Quality

Lidl Chooses RPC To Ensure Minavit Quality

The specialist skills of sites at Market Rasen and Halstead have been combined to provide supermarket chain Lidl with a personalised container and cap for its Minavit vitamins. Manufactured for Lidl by healthcare specialists Natra Health, the Minavit range comprises twelve of the most popular vitamins amongst consumers, including cod liver oil, garlic tablets and Vitamin C. Lidl wanted to improve the quality and performance of Minavits packaging and asked Natra Health to select a suitable manufacturing partner. With a successful supply relationship in place for many years, Natra Health knew that Market Rasens capabilities provided the ideal match. Lidl wanted to optimise the seal between container and closure, and to achieve a greater consistency in the overall pack appearance, explains Chris Keeble of Natra Health. At the same time, it was vital to maintain the features of the existing pack, including an embossed Minavit logo. Group was able to successfully meet all of these requirements, he adds. The container is extrusion blow moulded at Market Rasen in white HDPE, while a variety of coloured tamper-evident PP caps with heat-induction sealing are supplied by RPC Halstead to match each products individual labelling.

Bottle Redesign Gives Carlube A Modern Makeover

Bottle Redesign Gives Carlube A Modern Makeover

Group has designed an eye-catching new engine oil bottle to distinguish the premium nature of Tetrosyls Carlube brand from competitor products. As the largest manufacturer of car care products in the UK, Tetrosyl supplies solutions both under its own brands and private label ranges in supermarkets and automotive outlets. The company has used a standard 5 litre bottle from s Raunds site for several years, which is still valued highly by Tetrosyl. The bottle is durable, practical and attractive, and has proved its popularity with consumers over the years across many of our products, confirms Simon Howorth, Tetrosyls Marketing Manager. In addition, excellent service is ideal for high volumes in just-in-time delivery. It is the popularity of the bottle – which is also used by other manufacturers – that has prompted Tetrosyls commission of a redesigned bottle to differentiate Carlube from rival brands. As our premium brand, we wanted to refresh Carlubes image by giving the bottle a modern makeover while still being recognisable to retailers and consumers, Howorth explains. Tetrosyls designers suggested initial concepts from which generated a workable pack that strikes a delicate balance between style and practicality. While the redesign had to stand out on-shelf, it maintains the same footprint, height and cap placement as the existing bottle, to ensure optimum compatibility for filling and logistics. The new bottle offers a more compact, contemporary design, with the squarer handle shape complemented with ergonomic finger grips. The labelling area has also been made smaller, allowing the familiar parallel ridgesmotif that appeared on the old label to be recreated on-pack for a tactile effect. Blow moulded by in HDPE, the bottle is supplied in black and silver versions to suit Carlubes branding requirements.

Barrier Materials Provide The Cradle for Baby Food

Barrier Materials Provide The Cradle for Baby Food

Plastic tubs manufactured using Cobelplasts high barrier sheets are well placed to meet the growing market for aseptic baby food packaging, thanks to their combination of design flexibility, safe handling, excellent long-term product protection and cost-effectiveness compared to alternative packaging materials such as glass. Advances in aseptic form-fill-seal (FFS) technology have already led leading baby food brands to replace traditional glass pack formats with cost-effective, versatile alternatives. Plastics packaging has many valuable assets, as it is user-friendly, microwaveable for convenient reheating and shatterproof for consumer safety. In addition, plastics light weight ensures reduced strain on the supply chain, while the production and recycling of plastics consumes less energy and produces fewer emissions than comparable methods for glass. It is crucial that the material used in aseptic baby food can provide sufficient protection against oxygen and moisture ingress over the required time period. Cobelplasts expertise in co-extruded PP/EVOH/PP sheets provides the right combination: EVOH offers a highly effective oxygen barrier, while PP delivers excellent moisture protection. The combination of these materials ensures an extended ambient shelf life of up to 12 months. Cobelplast produces bespoke barrier sheet for form-fill-seal applications that is flexible enough to enable a wide range of design options to be thermoformed, including ergonomic cup shapes that allow parents to feed their child directly from the pack. Materials can be specified either in transparent versions – ideal to see product contents – or in different colours for branding purposes. Recloseable lids – which can be supplied by sister site RPC Bramlage – provide the finishing touch for a complete packaging solution.

Superior Pail

Superior Pail

Superior product quality is the key reason for Continental Ice Creams selection of tamper-evident printed pails from group, the latest chapter in a supply relationship that has endured for 25 years. Based in Essex, Continental was founded in 1984 and today specialises in the supply of natural-set yoghurts to retailers, cash and carry outlets, and the catering trade. The company has been using pails from the beginning and – despite trying out alternative packaging over the years – has never found anything to better their original choice. The consistent quality, reliable performance and exceptional service we get from RPC makes them our undisputed first choice, confirms David Kooner of Continental Ice Cream. Group latest deal with the company is to supply 5 and 10 litre tamper evident pails, printed with the Continental brand, for sale to the catering industry. This is an important side of the business, as Continental is one of the countrys leading suppliers to the Asian restaurant sector. At the same time, group continues to provide Continental with a range of sizes, including smaller tubs better suited for retail outlets.

Consumer Demand Triggers A Bigger Bottle

Consumer Demand Triggers A Bigger Bottle

Group has produced a new standard 750 ml PET trigger bottle to meet increasing demand for larger pack sizes in the household products sector. The 750 ml is considered a suitable size increase while optimising convenience of use and affordability. Group hawe new value size bottle design – offered alongside its existing 500 ml variant – is tailored to meet the requirements of both consumers and brands. The pleasing curved shape, for example, offers a balance between functionality, aesthetics and branding. The bottle body is raised to deliver a large and prominent labelling area, while the neck is ergonomically shaped to provide a natural grip for consumers. Filling requirements have also been taken into consideration – the bottles 28 mm screw neck is compatible with many of the standard triggers already available on the market.
