Smart Grids: iNES - Intelligent Distribution Grid Management System

Future challenges in the energy sector will be in integrating new power generators (e.g. photovoltaic systems, co-generators) into existing distribution grid structures in a sensible way. Concurrently, it is important to meet the growing performance requirements of new technologies, such as e-mobility or heat pumps. Both need intelligent, decentralized energy and grid management systems that can react to the requirements of the grid, thus avoiding over- or under-voltage, as well as operational disruption.
