The Kardex Remstar Horizontal is an automated computer controlled horizontal carousel. It has been successfully installed in a wide range of applications up to a height of 4.1m and a payload of 60 tons. Much reduced walking and waiting time, combined with software control of picking sequences ensures that the Kardex Horizontal delivers an excellent Return on Investment (ROI). In addition to the speed of pick, accuracy of pick is essential and operators are guided by pick to light systems which ensure almost 100% accuracy. The Shuttle is a computer controlled automated vertical lift, storage and retrieval system. It is modular in construction and works on the goods to person principle. The Shuttle has been improved and modified through new version releases and is now on its fourth generation model; ensuring it continues to remain at the forefront of automated logistics solutions. Stock within the Shuttle remains stationary on the front and rear tray locations. A movable extractor unit travels vertically between the two columns of trays and pulls the requested tray from its location and brings it to an access point. The operator then picks or replenishes stock and the tray is returned to its home.
